I think that waves ssl plugs are pretty on but aside from that i really don t know how accurate most of their emulations are beside from the 1176 cla 76 which isnt too far off imo.

Compared to the two aforementioned it sounds smoother perhaps more subtle and more full bodied in my opinion. This is the compressor i have used the most on my mix bus in the past 3 4 years. The gain knob adds a subtle grit. The vertigo is very nice.

I ve compared back and forth with the waves ssl and decided to go with the waves v comp. The eq section of the e channel is modeled after the black knob 242. The auto release is excellent. I own a lot analog modeled compressors ssl bus comp waves h comp cla classic compressors ni softube vintage compressors.

It features independent limiter and compressor sections and you can vary the amount of analog emulation with the analog knob. Regardless i do find the v series pretty useful. It is not always the right tool for the job but it is right there with the alpha manley. The v comp definitely adds some analog color to your tracks.
