Poultice products made especially for granite can be purchased at a hardware or stone surface specialty store or you can make your own paste using flour plus hydrogen peroxide.

Removing stains from granite.
This is a solution that can be created by a mixture of baking soda and 3 percent hydrogen peroxide.
When water or another liquid is left on top of the granite small amounts of it seep into the stone through its many pores.

For those tenacious water rings around a faucet resulting from hard water that sits on the surface try scrubbing softly with a brillo pad or gently scraping with a razor blade then wiping away the residue with a soft damp cloth.
The fact that the water is staining if under 10 minutes is the exact indicator that no granite sealer has been applied or applied very poorly and the countertop needs sealing.
However if water darkens on the surface then this is the time to re seal after removing the entire stain.
You shouldn t have to scrub hard.
When hard water sits on a granite surface and dries it leaves a visible mineral deposit that often creates white rings especially around faucets.

You can also use a single edge razor blade to gently scrape away the residue or a safe on stone pad to scrub the area softly before rinsing and drying.
You may have noticed a few times water stains or ring marks on your granite slab that are sometime hard to remove.

Once you have tested your granite then apply a small amount of bar keepers friend to a microfiber cloth.
Once this happens apply the solution to the stain.
