This experiment has lots of variations and many different ways of building depending upon time and resources. We might just decide to feature it here. Empty the water into a jug so you can boil it again to repeat the experiment or pour it on a plant once it has cooled down. Add the funnel to your bottle and carefully pour your water into the bottle.

Fill a small bowl with cold tap water food colouring is optional but makes a much prettier fountain. This is due to equal air pressure pushing downwards through the opening of the straw and the bottle. When you invert the water bottle then plain water of the bottle starts to flow out from drainage straw due to gravity and air pressure decreases inside the bottle. If the bottle is wet the blu tac will be hard to stick.
