I suppose i could place a heater in the garage with a thermostat set to just above freezing to help prevent freezing inside but that still leaves the supply pipe vulerable.

Login to reply the answers post. So my own experience shows how a garage is a bad place to install a washing machine. Unless your machine is in an un heated area chances are it s not frozen. Also there is still water inside the washing machine itself that can freeze.

I think you need to think about ways to insulate and heat that area more permanently.
